Tara Devi Ma is the creative philosophy behind my storytelling—an exploration of awakening, emotional intelligence, and personal sovereignty.
It reflects the intersection of lived experience and imagination, where inner transformation and external worlds unfold simultaneously.
This philosophy lives not as instruction, but as presence—often revealed in stillness, in reflection, and in the subtle intelligence of connection, sometimes through the companionship of a small Yorkie named Coco.
The Tara Devi Ma Universe is a collection of interconnected stories inspired by my semi-autobiographical series The Lady in Her Pentagon, transforming personal experience into narratives that explore awakening, identity, and perception.
Set largely in and around Washington, D.C., these stories reflect both institutional environments and inner transformation, where characters navigate the tension between who they are and who they are becoming.
Through layered, character-driven storytelling, the universe invites audiences to see their lives more clearly and reconnect with a deeper wisdom that often appears in unexpected ways.
In some stories, that wisdom appears through the quiet presence of a small Yorkie named Coco.
These stories explore what happens when one begins to awaken—when what was once unseen becomes undeniable, and the path forward can no longer be ignored.
Inspired by my original serialized story, childhood friends, now roommates find themselves in the roles of killer, victim, and witness after years of co-dependency and dysfunction takes an unexpected turn. This horrific event unravels every aspect of the witness’s life, thrusting her into a spiritual journey of self-discovery.
Inspired by a semi-autobiographical journey, this series follows a brilliant strategist working inside one of the most powerful institutions in the world as she begins to question the system she once trusted. As hidden truths surface, she must confront the forces shaping her life—and discover the courage to follow the voice of her soul rather than the expectations placed upon her.
Inspired by The Adventures of Cleo and Sophie, two adventurous dogs dream themselves into different professions each night, waking up as astronauts, doctors, scientists, and more. Through imagination, play, and cultural exploration, they inspire children to see themselves in every possibility and to dream without limits.
Inspired by Paws Healology, a philosophy developed through my work, a small Yorkie with a remarkably calm presence helps children understand their feelings and return to stillness in a busy world. Through gentle humor and mindful adventures, Coco shows that wisdom can come from the quietest companions.

The Quiet Heart of the Tara Devi Ma Universe
Coco is more than a beloved Yorkie—she is the quiet heart of this storytelling universe. Through her calm presence and curious spirit, she reminds us that wisdom often appears in the smallest companions. Many of the stories here are inspired by the gentle practice of co-regulation—the quiet way living beings help one another remain grounded, aware, and open to life’s unfolding journey. Coco’s presence also reflects the spirit of the Poise philosophy that guides both my writing and the Sanctuary behind this work.
Every story begins in stillness.
My creative process is rooted in reflection, ocean walks, and the quiet moments where insight has space to emerge. Along the coastal paths of Los Angeles— with Coco beside me— I explore the questions that shape these stories: the tension between soul and ego, the courage of self-awakening, and the quiet wisdom that appears when we learn to listen.
